Intercity Glass WERe ready with help from Inagas

11th December 2010

Inagas has been working with Intercity Glass in Plymouth to ensure the installation of the SmartFill 1 will enable them produce units which hit the standard, following the revisions to Document L.

Mark Snell, Managing Director at Intercity Glass, explains:”The last few months have been really busy for us, because as well as servicing our customers’ orders, we have also been working away behind the scenes to ensure we meet the required Window Energy Rating standards post October 1st and as a result have incorporated gas filling and Edgetech’s Super Spacer into our production. We have been through a number of changes since we set up in 2004, due to growth, moving premises and across the industry as a whole, but this has to be the most comprehensive undertaking for our business so far.

“That said, the transition has been made much easier thanks to companies like Inagas, who have been able to provide good advice, background information on the systems and processes and hands-on technical support. The SmartFill 1 has allowed us to start producing units which we would previously have had to buy in, and we are able to achieve an A rating. Gas filling as part of our production has already allowed us to win more customers and we are confident that this growth will continue as a result.”
