County Glass trebles gas filling capacity
A trebling of demand for gas filled IG units at County Glass in Winchester has resulted in a major increase in gas filling capacity from Inagas. The comparative figures were taken from the same quarter – June to August – 2002 and 2003. Gas filling resources were already a factor in the company’s current programme to improve production facilities. An upgrade to their existing machine and the purchase of a new one was the solution. Following a thorough evaluation of a small loan machine two years ago, County had bought what was then the highest capacity Inagas machine, filling at up to 90 litres per minute. Pleased with its performance and the service support from Inagas, County took the obvious route and opted to upgrade the existing machine to 175 litres per minute capacity. Matched with a new 175 litre capacity machine which had already been ordered in June, County now has a high speed Inagas machine serving each of their two production lines, one Lisec and one Lenhardt. “When we bought our first Inagas machine, we had gas filling capacity to spare,” says managing director Ian Hamilton. “We anticipated growth in demand for gas filled units, so it was not until this summer that we implemented the planned upgrade and only had to buy one new high speed machine. In terms of the economics and the performance, we are very pleased.” |
